✨ Meet Us Where Colors Come Alive — Tokyo International Pen Show 2025 ✨

Dear friends,

It’s been a while! The day we’ve all been waiting for is finally arriving — from November 1st to 3rd, StarryInk will be at the Tokyo International Pen Show, bringing not just colors, but creativity itself.

We’re bringing along our signature ink collection for you to test, write, and play with — and, of course, this year, we're introducing two special guests at our booth:

🐧 Sweet Penguin 甜企鹅(tián qǐ'é), our limited show ink — soft, gentle, and exclusive to TIPS 2025. You can see more details and swatches on our Instagram post — and welcome to try it yourself at our table.

But that's just the beginning.✨

We're also unveiling something truly magical — The Alchemy Machine, a creation born from nine years of custom ink experience, ready to turn your imagination into color.

⚗️ The Alchemy Machine — Create Your Own Ink

Imagine standing before a mysterious device, surrounded by bottles of color — each one an "element" waiting to be transformed. With the Alchemy Machine, you become the creator and also an alchemist.

Choose freely from 21 elemental ingredients, each carrying its own hue, texture, and personality. Follow your instincts, mix what speaks to you, and watch as the machine blends your choices into a completely new ink — your very own Philosopher's Stone.

Ink Report

Whether this is your first time creating ink or you're already a seasoned ink lover, The Alchemy Machine welcomes all explorers.

For newcomers, it's a chance to discover the joy of transformation — how a few drops can change everything.

For veterans, it's an invitation to play — to experiment with color balance, texture, and emotion in real time.

No two results are ever the same — and that's the beauty of it.

🧭 How to Join the Experience

We are now accepting reservations for the Alchemy Machine experience. Reserve your session here.

On October 30th, we'll send a confirmation email with your reserved time slot. In the meantime, please scan the QR code or click the link to read the Alchemy Codex👇

Ink Report

— a special guidebook to the elements, their stories, and meanings.

Read it before your session to learn about the ingredients and their hidden meanings — it will help you understand the spirit of the craft and make your creation experience even more magical and step into your role as a true ink alchemist.

✨Reservations close online on October 30th, as we begin preparing for the show. If you're not sure about your schedule, don't worry — we'll also accept on-site reservations during the event..

Simply visit our booth early in the day to check available time slots and sign up in person. While you wait for your turn, you're welcome to explore the show and come back for your alchemy session.

🎁 What You’ll Receive

Each session lasts about 30 to 40 minutes, during which you can create up to three inks (12ml each) for 4,680 JPY.

Online reservations come with one extra creation — giving you a total of four unique bottles, all entirely your own.

This is the first time the Alchemy Machine appears at an offline event, and we're thrilled to share this moment with you in Tokyo.

Our team will be there to assist you throughout the process — helping you refine your ideas, explore combinations, and enjoy the freedom of creation.

✨ See You in Tokyo!

From the soft charm of Sweet Penguin to the boundless creativity of The Alchemy Machine, this year's Tokyo Pen Show is more than an exhibition — it's an experience.

Come play, mix, and make something only you can create.

We can't wait to meet you, to share colors, stories, and a little bit of alchemy. See you soon at the Tokyo International Pen Show. ✨

✒️ Disclaimer: The Magic of Ink

Please note that the colors shown in photos may vary slightly depending on lighting, camera settings, screen displays, and editing. More importantly, this ink—like all our creations—is deeply responsive to its environment.

Different types of paper, coating, fiber density, and absorbency will bring out unique aspects of the ink’s color, sheen, and chromatography. The same ink may lean cooler on Tomoe River, warmer on watercolor paper, or reveal hidden undertones on tracing paper. We call this “Color Variance Across Papers” — or as we like to say: one ink, many voices.

We wholeheartedly encourage you to try it on different papers, in different pens, under different skies. Let it surprise you. Let it become part of your story.

We can’t wait to see what colors come alive under your pen!
